لماذا التراث؟Why heritage?

في مسقط، لا يُقرأ التاريخُ في الكتب وحدها — بل يُلمَس في حجارة القلاع، ويُسمَع في المتاحف، ويُعاش في الأزقّة.In Muscat, history is not read in books alone — it is touched in the stones of forts, heard in museums, and lived in the old lanes.

كانت مسقط عاصمةً وميناءً التقت عنده الحضارات منذ قرون. واليوم، تحوّل هذا الإرث إلى مدرسةٍ مفتوحة: مركز التعلّم بالمتحف الوطني يقدّم عشرات الورش والمحاضرات والعروض كلَّ عام، وتفتح القلاعُ والمتاحفُ أبوابها لتكون نافذةً على الماضي والحاضر والمستقبل.Muscat was a capital and a port where civilizations met for centuries. Today that inheritance has become an open school: the National Museum's Learning Centre runs dozens of workshops, lectures and performances every year, and forts and museums open their doors as windows onto past, present and future.

في احتفاء المتحف الوطني بليلة منتصف الشهر الفضيل، امتلأت حديقة المتحف بألفَي زائرٍ من العائلات والأطفال — دليلٌ على أنّ التراث حين يُقدَّم بحبٍّ يصبح احتفالاً مجتمعياً، لا درساً في قاعة. At the National Museum's celebration of the mid-month night of Ramadan, the museum garden filled with two thousand visitors — families and children — proof that when heritage is offered with warmth it becomes a community celebration, not a lesson in a hall.
